By Bethany Foyt

By Sarah Pavlik, 2017 graduate of The Genius SeriesSarah Pavlik

When I presented my case to apply for this marketing course, my primary goal was to learn more about digital marketing and improve our lead generation.  While the course offering was diverse, I felt that I could have my immediate needs met and pick up some tips along the way.

Endless Opportunity in a Collaborative Community

By Bethany Foyt

By Kaitlyn McKendry of Vicinity Manufacturing

My marketing journey began when I needed to officially select a major. At the time, there were no designated advisers to the ‘undecided’ group. Marketing seemed general enough, so I selected it with the thought that I could always change it later, though I never did.Kaitlyn McKendry

As a recent college graduate it can be unnerving to transition to a professional environment. I applied to Vicinity Manufacturing with the hopes to polish my networking skills and put some tangible real-world experience onto my resume during my senior year at Kennesaw State University. Since joining in August of 2012, I have far surpassed my goals.

A “Little Mark” on The Microsoft Dynamics Community

Nicole Helm

By Nicole Helm, Rockton Software

When Bethany asked those in The Genius Series to write this essay, I had such a hard time to think about how to write about my journey as a marketer. I’d like to say I knew I wanted to have a career in marketing when I was in college, but that wasn’t the case. I was going to school to be a teacher, thinking I wanted to teach English as a second language.

Then, when I graduated, I was 20 years old, and Rockton Software hired me to solely do their social media. I’ve morphed into managing the majority of the marketing here. It’s been a whirlwind of learning. I can still say I’m learning to this day, every day, and even more this year, thanks to The Genius Series.

What’s My Company’s Story?

By Bethany Foyt

By Aynsley Keller

Marketing seems to get reinvented and redefined more than any other business focus. I know you’re thinking “spoken like a true marketer”. Just hear me out. My experience is minimal in comparison to those veterans of marketing who seem to have all the answers and remember the days before the internet and back when a direct mail campaign could get you exponential ROI. I have, however, been around long enough to witness not one shift, but many shifts in messaging trends and email do’s and don’ts’ and search engine ‘optimization’ or whatever the new term they call it is.

Help Us Congratulate The Graduating Class of Marketers Excel Into Geniuses, Class of 2016!

By Bethany Foyt

Over the course of the past nine months, The Genius Series students underwent rigorous online training on topics, such as video marketing, list management, budget planning, sales and marketing alignment, and more. In addition to the wisdom they’ve acquired, this group of marketers has built a long-lasting comradery to share ideas and best practices while they continue on their marketing journeys.

Congratulate these geniuses on social media, address your emails to them with “genius” in the greeting line, or simply bow down to them when you see them at the next event. :)

This is a major achievement and all of these marketers took their work, and their companies, to the next level of marketing! Way to go, geniuses!!

The Power of Connecting with Like-Minded Professionals

By Bethany Foyt

When I joined The Partner Channel in 2013, I knew my values aligned perfectly with the company’s mission from the start. I’ve always had a passion for community and am proud that The Partner Channel strives to offer that up in every resource we provide.Community Quote

This is especially the case with our new offering, The Genius Series. The six students we have participating in this year’s class have already amazed me beyond all my expectations. Even though we’re not at the same event or in the same room, connecting virtually is giving us all a new-found sense of community in the often crazed and impersonal world we live in daily.

Lindy Belley from Integrity Data shared this after last month’s class: I seriously get a boost of energy after we have our meetings. I finally had the desire to put creative planning and thought into the webinar follow up campaign I’ve been mentally working on for months. Felt like I accomplished something useful and forward-thinking.”

Kaitlyn McKendry from Vicinity Manufacturing said it all after our first class: “The small-group setting of the sessions and sense of community that The Partner Channel is fostering among participants is invaluable. For me personally, the program is offering outside guidance and encouraging lasting connections as I work to move forward and build a career.”

The power behind this determined group of professionals is so exciting to witness and I look forward to six more wonderful months with them to tackle topics like marketing budgets, content marketing, event management, marketing tracking, and more.

Interested in participating in upcoming classes? Shoot me a note at Bethany@thepartnerchannel.com and I’ll add you to my list!
